Athletic Background

High School: Iowa City Regina
College: Heartland Community College, Jacksonville State University and Mt. Mercy University

Trent earned 1st Team All-State Honors as a catcher his junior and senior year of high school helping to lead his team to the state semi-final in 2017 and state championship game in 2018 where they were runner-up. He went onto successful seasons at Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois where he was picked up by Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. He used his 6th year of eligibility from COVID to finish his career and Master’s Degree at Mt. Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he was awarded 2nd Team All Conference, Gold Glove Award, and chosen for the All Tournament team at the Heart of America Conference.

His extensive background playing after high school at various division levels under different coaches helps him bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to coaching. His focus is on working with adolescents on developing a wide variety of skills including catching, hitting and pitching along with teaching them to love the game.
